As a precaution to help limit the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19) and in support of the province’s efforts to promote social distancing, the Timmins Symphony Orchestra (TSO) Board of Directors has made the difficult decision to cancel the April 4 annual fundraising concert.

In addition, all orchestra, chorus and adult band rehearsals have been suspended and the TSO Music School will cease operation until further notice.

This decision does not come lightly, and the Board is closely monitoring the situation as it unfolds. We expect things will continue to evolve before COVID-19 is past us, and we will continue to prioritize what is best for the health and safety of our members of the Timmins Symphony Orchestra and Chorus and the Geoffrey James Lee School of Music, as well as the community at large.

At this time, the concert scheduled for May 9 is not affected however this may change as circumstances evolve. We will keep the public informed of any changes as they occur.

Please stay safe and follow all recommendations of our public health officials. In this unprecedented time, be sure to reach out to each other on a regular basis to help close the social distancing gap.
