Suspicious parking lot activity leads police to pills

The Timmins Police Service has completed its investigation into an incident where a suspect is alleged to have been found to be in possession of amphetamine tablets.

During the course of their patrols, a Timmins police officer approached a lone male person acting suspiciously in the parking lot of a local sports arena at approximately 11:50 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 19.

While the man was interviewed by the officer, the man admitted to having consumed liquor contrary to an existing probation order prohibiting him from doing so.

The man was placed under arrest for Breach of Probation at the scene.

Approximately 30 suspected amphetamine tablets were located on the man’s person during the course of a cursory search in keeping with standard procedure for persons under arrest.

Theodore Reimer, 19, of Timmins, has been charged with:

  • One count of Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking contrary to the Controlled Drug and Substances Act.
  • Four counts of Fail to Comply with Probation Order contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

The accused was held in police custody awaiting a bail hearing slated for this morning at Provincial Court in Timmins.
