TIMMINS—Over 140 jobs will be created in Timmins-James Bay this year thanks to Canada Summer Jobs. MP Charlie Angus says the riding will get $307-thousand this summer to employ students.

Every year we do very well with this program. We are able to give students employment and much needed experience.”

The jobs will spread across the riding from Cochrane and Iroquois Falls, to Earlton and Swastika.

“It’s nice to be able to offer this opportunity for groups and organizations in all regions of the riding. Moosonee, Larder Lake, Gowganda, Sesekinika, Connaught and almost every point in and around benefits in 2014.”

Funding for the program has remained very strong with the number of students employed increasing each year.

Angus says Timmins-James Bay continues to excel at investments in infrastructure, economic development funding and summer job creation.

It’s been a great program for us. I credit our great working relationship with Service Canada in being able to get the word out and reaping the rewards.”
