Thousands of people were at Hollinger Park for the kick off of the 2018 Stars and Thunder music festival. 

As part of the festivities, today in downtown Timmins the Stars and Thunder Village - Urban Park gets underway. It will be open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 25-June 29.

There will be kids' activities, the farmers' market, vendors and more. Live music is also on the schedule, with Jenn Brunet and Charlie Power performing at 11:15 a.m., and 3 Thorns and a Rose at 12:30 p.m.

To allow for all the activities, Third Avenue will be closed to traffic between Spruce and Cedar. Pine Street is also closed to traffic from Algonquin to Second Avenue.
