Spruce Street confrontation was followed by social media threats, say police

The Timmins Police Service has completed its investigation into an occurrence involving a person who allegedly uttered threats and breached conditions of his probation.

The Timmins Police responded to a call for service where the victim alleges that a male suspect confronted him at his Spruce Street South residence on Dec. 5 and made verbal threats against him.

The suspect is further alleged to have made continuing threats of the same nature by means of social media the following day.

Based on the investigation, Gregory Tomagatick, 35, of Timmins was arrested and charged with:

  • One count of uttering threats to the Criminal Code of Canada
  • Two counts of fail to comply with probation order contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

The accused person remains in police custody awaiting a bail hearing slated for this morning at Provincial Court in Timmins.
