South Porcupine remembers (8 photos)

Photos from Friday morning's ceremonies

Although the weather wasn't nearly as pleasant as it was a year ago, large crowds braved the conditions to honour the sacrifices of military personnel in South Porcupine Friday morning.

Branch 287 of the Royal Canadian Legion once again hosted Remembrance Day ceremonies. They began with a march around the block from Golden Avenue, onto Moore Street, then to Bruce Avenue before gathering in front of the Legion building.

Representatives from government organizations, service clubs, schools, police and fire departments laid wreaths in respect.

The crowd sang 'O Canada', as well as 'God Save the Queen' together. A bugler played 'The Last Post and Rouse'.
