OPP Lay Off Road Vehicle Charges

The South Porcupine Ontario Provincial Police has charged a local man with a number of traffic offences stemming from a traffic stop on September 17th , 2013, on Pine Street South, south of Timmins.

An OPP officer had occasion to locate and stop the operator of an off road vehicle that was allegedly speeding.

The vehicle’s driver was stopped and interviewed at the roadside.

Based on the investigative measures undertaken by the OPP officer,

Mark PELLERIN, 27, of Timmins, Ontario, has been charged with: - Driving While Under Suspension contrary to the Highway Traffic Act - Operate Off Road Vehicle – No Insurance contrary to the Off Road Vehicle’s Act - Speeding contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.

The vehicle was towed from the scene.

 

OPP LAY DRUG CHARGES

The South Porcupine OPP has laid drug related charges against two persons stemming from a routine traffic stop on September 15th at Hwy 101 in Mountjoy Twp, west of Timmins.

While on patrol, a South Porcupine OPP officer had occasion to attempt to stop a vehicle for an alleged traffic violation.

Based on investigative cues observed by the officer, two persons were arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance.

As a result of a search under the Controlled Drug and Substances Act , the OPP officer located and seized a quantity of suspected marijuana, along with other drug paraphernalia.

Justin PLOUFFE, 20, and Tyler POTVIN, 20, both of Timmins, have been charged with one count each of Possession of a Controlled Substance contrary to the Controlled Drug and Substances Act.

Each accused person was released from police custody but must attend Provincial Court in Timmins to answer to the charges laid against them.

 

OPP LAY DRUG CHARGES

The OPP’s Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau – Drug Enforcement Unit (South Porcupine) has laid drug related charges against two persons.

Based on an on-going investigation, arrests were made yesterday afternoon resulting in the seizure of approximately 212 grams of cocaine with a street value of $21,000, along with a quantity of marijuana and oxycontin as well as other drug paraphernalia.

Ryan BEAUDOIN, 21, of Timmins, has been charged with:

- one count  of Trafficking in a Controlled Substance contrary to the Controlled Drug and Substances Act.

- one count  of Possession of a Controlled Substance contrary to the Controlled Drug and Substances Act

- two counts  of Fail To Comply with Undertaking contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

David LACASSE, 23, of Timmins, has been charged with:

- one count  of Trafficking in a Controlled Substance contrary to the Controlled Drug and Substances Act.

- three counts  of Possession of a Controlled Substance contrary to the Controlled Drug and Substances Act

Each accused person has been held in police custody awaiting a bail hearing scheduled for this morning at Provincial Court in Timmins to answer to the charges laid against them.
