(SOUTH PORCUPINE) – An officer with the South Porcupine Ontario Provincial Police ( OPP ) has charged a Schumacher man with Driving Under Suspension stemming from a routine traffic stop on September 10th, 2013.
The OPP officer had occasion to stop the driver of a Kia Rio passenger vehicle for an alleged traffic violation on Hwy 101 west of Timmins.
Based on the routine investigative steps taken by the OPP officer, it was determined that the driver is currently under suspension in the province of Ontario.
Jason HOWSON, 31, of Schumacher, Ontario, has been charged with Driving While Under Suspension contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.
HOWSON is required to attend Provincial Court in Timmins on October 24th to answer to the charge laid against him.
The vehicle was towed from the scene.
