South Porcupine Food Bank shouts out a big thanks to January donors

In January 2020, the food bank served 212 adults and 101 children in need

SOUTH PORCUPINE FOOD BANK

The South Porcupine Food Bank Inc. (SPFB) thanks ALL our supporters!

We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who donated in January 2020 a total of an estimated 1,337 lbs of food and $2,998 including:

  • OLG Bingo contributed $1,495 as a result of our volunteer efforts;
  • The Kinsmen Club of the Porcupine donated $500;
  • OPSEU Local 649 donated $200;
  • Fraternite des Chevaliers de Colomb Conseil Theriault #6808 donated $104 and 110 lbs of food;
  • The Good Samaritan Inn donated 540 lbs of food;
  • Patrons of Giant Tiger and food bins at Food Basics and Porcupine Mall provided 270 lbs of food;
  • St. Joachim’s Church, Bible Fellowship Assembly, Porcupine United Church and Covenant United Church donated a combined 180 lbs of food;
  • Abundant Grace Ministries donated $25;
  • The Urban Farm donated 30 lbs of food;
  • Brush Strokes Timmins donated 25 lbs of food;
  • TCN donated 15 lbs of food;
  • The Benevity Community Impact Fund $17;
  • Miscellaneous income of $55 and food bank clients donated $51;
  • Other individuals combined donated 167 lbs of food and $551.

SPFB has been serving those in need in Timmins & Area since 1987, is operated by 30 volunteers, with monthly operating costs in 2019 averaging $6,325. In Jan. 2020, we served 313 people (212 adults & 101 children). Thanks to all!
