Timmins and District Hospital Auxiliary members were honoured for their service at the group's annual Christmas Party.
Between the six volunteers receiving Provincial Life Memberships with the Hospital Auxiliaries Association of Ontario, they have 147 years of service.
The members honoured were: Debbie Dupuis (who was not at the ceremony) who has volunteered for 18 years, Annette Gelinas with 15 years, Nancy Pandolfi with 17 years, Lil Lehto with 23 years, Jo Morrisette with 38 years, and and Helen Phippen with 36 years.
The two categories of criteria for people to be honoured are leadership and executive service, and longstanding reliable service. For leadership and executive service the recipient must have served at least 10 years, including six years of executive leadership, and have been recognized for work with the auxiliary before.
For longstanding reliable service, the honouree has to be active at least 20 years, be involved in the weekly, bi-weekly and monthly activities, and have received previous recognition.
