Grab your favourite gals and get a little shopping done next week.
The Sass Shopping Spree is hitting the streets downtown Timmins Friday, Dec. 6 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
For purchases made during those hours, Downtown Timmins BIA executive director Noella Rinaldo said shoppers will receive a ballot to be entered into draws with prizes donated from participating businesses. She said each business is donating a $25 gift certificate as well as a prize for the draws.
The fun will finish off with a Ladies' Sass Social at Gibby's Tavern.
“It’s a simple night - it’s go out with the girls, go shopping, go to Gibby’s afterwards for some drinks,” she said.
Rinaldo expects there will be about 10 businesses taking part, and shoppers will know which ones to pop unto by the balloons outside. They'll also be listed on the BIA's Facebook.
She said a lot of them are also doing special things inside their stores that night.
The museum, for example, will have the fire pit going and be serving up apple cider.
“We’re excited about the shopping spree because we haven’t done one in a while and it’s just nice to get our retailers co-ordinated so people know they can come downtown and there'll be quite a few stores that are open,” she said.
The ladies' night will also be the first night for the BIA's holiday pop-up shop at 254 Third Ave.
