The Timmins Police Service arrested seven local persons over the weekend on the strength of arrest warrant stemming from various incidents.
A routine traffic stop on Mountjoy North during the evening hours of Friday, Oct. 4 resulted in the arrest of a subject known to the police as being wanted on the strength of an arrest warrant.
The Timmins Police Service officer who initiated the traffic stop, confirmed the validity of the warrant and placed Christopher Brown, 31 of Timmins under arrest.
The arrested person was taken into police custody and held for a bail hearing slated for this morning at Provincial Court in Timmins to answer to the original charges laid against the person.
Later that same evening, while attending at the scene of a Liquor Licence Act violation on Algonquin Boulevard, a Timmins Police Service officer recognized the person involved as being a person who is allegedly wanted on the strength of an arrest warrant issued by the Provincial Court in Timmins. The person was interviewed by the officer in order to confirm the validity of the warrant.
Once the warrant was confirmed, Roger Chokomolin, 55, of Timmins, was taken into police custody and held for a bail hearing slated for this morning at Provincial Court in Timmins to answer to the original charges laid against the person.
Later that same evening, a Timmins Police Service officer was completing patrols of the Schumacher area when the officer recognized a man as being a person who is allegedly wanted on the strength of an arrest warrant issued by the Provincial Court in Timmins.
The man was interviewed by the officer while the validity of the warrant was being confirmed. Once confirmed, Nathan Hamelin, 32, of Timmins, Ont., was taken into police custody and held for a bail hearing slated for this morning at Provincial Court in Timmins to answer to the original charges laid against the person.
Early the following day (Oct. 5), while completing patrols of the south end of the city, a Timmins Police Service officer recognized a pedestrian as being a person who is allegedly wanted on the strength of an arrest warrant issued by the Provincial Court in Timmins.
The person was interviewed by the officer while the validity of the warrant was confirmed.
As a result, Gabriel Fireman, 26, of Timmins was taken into police custody and held for a bail hearing slated for this morning at Provincial Court in Timmins to answer to the original charges laid against the person.
Additionally, a Timmins Police Service officer was completing patrols of the downtown core during the morning hours of Saturday, Oct. 5 when the officer recognized a man as being allegedly in breach of the conditions imposed upon him by means of a conditional sentence issued by the Provincial Court in Timmins.
The man was interviewed by the officer while the validity of the conditional sentence was being confirmed. Once confirmed, Gary Boucher, 46, of Timmins, was taken into police custody and held for a bail hearing slated for this morning at Provincial Court in Timmins to answer to the charge laid against the person.
Similarly, a Timmins Police Service officer was completing patrols of the downtown core of Timmins during the early evening hours of Saturday, Oct. 5, when the officer recognized a man as being a person who is allegedly wanted on the strength of an arrest warrant issued by the Provincial Court in Timmins.
The man was interviewed by the officer while the validity of the warrant was being confirmed. Once confirmed, Dallas Wabano, 29, of Timmins, was taken into police custody and held for a bail hearing slated for this morning at Provincial Court in Timmins to answer to the original charges laid against the person.
Later that same evening, a Timmins Police Service officer was completing patrols of the South Porcupine area when the officer recognized a man as being a person who is allegedly wanted on the strength of an arrest warrant issued by the Provincial Court in Timmins.
The man was interviewed by the officer while the validity of the warrant was being confirmed. Once confirmed, Luc Pronovost, 47, of South Porcupine, Ont., was taken into police custody and held for a bail hearing slated for this morning at Provincial Court in Timmins to answer to the original charges laid against the person.
