Second anti-racism rally held downtown Timmins (6 photos)

About 40 people took part

About 40 people marched through the downtown core for a second anti-racism rally in Timmins.

The small energetic crowd walked from Participark to Timmins City Hall for the protest.

With Algonquin Boulevard closed to traffic for the event, organizers talked to the crowd from the steps of city hall.

The first rally was held Wednesday, June 3, and was attended by about 100 people.

A third rally is being discussed for Sunday, June 7.

For it, organizers told TimminsToday yesterday that they are planning to invite a few local hip-hop artists to perform in front of the police station.

Sarah McKeachnie said they are hoping to hold rallies at different locations throughout the city to give people without transportation an opportunity to participate.
