Santa and his elves are ready for their annual stop in Timmins.

The Santa Claus Parade is winding its way through the streets Nov. 17.

“Santa is getting ready to come and we are excited,” said Noella Rinaldo, Downtown Timmins BIA executive director.

Organized by the BIA and Timmins Chamber of Commerce, there are about 50 floats in the parade.

“Because the theme is Toyland there’s some really inventive floats coming,” said Rinaldo said.

The parade kicks off at 6 p.m. near Timmins Transit.

It will head north on Spruce Street to Algonquin Boulevard, then west on Algonquin to Pine Street. It goes south on Pine Street to Third Avenue, and follows the street west right until Mountjoy Street.

There is no on street parking along the parade route starting at 4 p.m. Saturday.

Before the parade starts, there will be volunteers collecting donations for the food bank along the route. Canada Post is also collecting letters for Santa.

Be sure to check the forecast and dress for the weather, the parade usually last about two hours.
