Quebec resident charged in domestic dispute investigation

KIRKLAND LAKE - On Aug. 2, 2019, members of the Kirkland Lake Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a domestic dispute in Clifford Township, Ont.

As a result of the investigation, a 37-year-old, from Rouyn-Noranda, Que., was arrested and charged with the following:

  • Assault with a weapon, contrary to section 267(a) of the Criminal Code, and
  • Possession of a schedule I substance - methamphetamine, contrary to section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Kirkland Lake.

The OPP will not be releasing the names in order to protect the identity of the victims.
