If you're looking to drive across the Little Long Generating Station in June, access will be restricted intermittently, according to Ontario Power Generation (OPG).

In July access will be restricted for about three years.

"The intermittent closures relate to the mobilization, temporary infrastructure upgrades and installation of additional instrumentation around the Adam Creek spillway, part of the Little Long Dam Safety Project," reads an OPG notice.

Starting July 1, the company said the intermittent closures will move to complete traffic restrictions. People will not be able to drive across the Little Long Dam via Fraserdale Road.

"The Little Long Dam Safety Project will increase the discharge capacity at the Adam Creek Sluiceway to ensure extreme floodwater can safely pass through and upgrade the existing infrastructure to meet the updated dam safety legal requirements," reads the nortice.

The detour is through Kapuskasing and then travelling north via Fred Flatt Road/Smoky Line.
