SOUTH PORCUPINE - Members of the South Porcupine Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged three men and two youth with Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking in a controlled substance. The charges are as a result of a vehicle stop on Highway 101, Germain Township.

The subsequent investigation led to the seizure of cannabis resin and cannabis marihuana, money and methamphetamine with an estimated value of 5,000 dollars. The incident occurred in the early morning hours on August 12, 2017.

Charged are:

Matthews Gage, age 18 of Charlton, Ontario, with

  • one count of Possession of Controlled Substance - Schedule I for the Purpose of Trafficking
  • two counts of Possession of Controlled Substance - Schedule II for the Purpose of Trafficking and
  • two counts of Possession of Controlled Substance - Schedule II

Logan Peddie, age 18 of New Liskeard, Ontario with

  • one count of Possession of Controlled Substance - Schedule I for the purpose of Trafficking and
  • two counts of Possession of Controlled Substance - Schedule II for the Purpose of Trafficking

Dustin Smith, age 24 of Englehart, Ontario, with

  • one count of Possession of Controlled Substance - Schedule I for the Purpose of Trafficking and
  • two counts of Possession of Controlled Substance - Schedule II for the Purpose of Trafficking

and two young persons, whose identity is protected under the authority of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, have been charge with

  • one count of Possession of Controlled Substance - Schedule I for the Purpose of Trafficking and
  • two counts of Possession of Controlled Substance - Schedule II for the Purpose of Trafficking.

The accused are scheduled to attend Ontario Court of Justice in Timmins on October 24, 2017.
