On Sept. 14, 2017, Richard Dubeau, 54, a member of Timmins Municipal Council was arrested and charged with one count of corruption of a municipal official, pursuant to the Criminal Code of Canada. The charge stemmed from an allegation and investigation into an incident involving a local business.
Upon further review of the original incident, Mr. Dubeau was further charged with breach of trust by a public officer, pursuant to Section 122 of the Criminal Code of Canada.
Mr. Dubeau will appear in court on Nov. 7, 2017 to answer to all charges.
