Charges laid in connection to thefts from vehicles

An individual who has been residing in Timmins temporarily is facing charges in connection with multiple thefts from vehicles in the city’s North end.

During the early morning of June 28, 2015, police received multiple reports regarding an individual who was entering vehicles in search of valuables.

The individual was later confronted by a resident, at which point a can of bear deterrent was pointed at the resident and a threat was made against the resident.

Fortunately, the resident involved did not sustain any injuries as a result of the incident.

At approximately 9:30 a.m., police located the suspect in the area of McLean Dr. and Jubilee Ave. and made an arrest following a brief pursuit.

Brandon JEANVEAU, 19, faces charges of Assault with a Weapon, Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose, Carrying a Concealed Weapon, Theft Under $5000 and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime.

Jeanveau was released on a Recognizance of Bail with a court date of July 14, 2015.
