COLEMAN TOWNSHIP - On April 15, 2019, shortly before 2:00 p.m., members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Temiskaming Detachment were notified of found human remains in Coleman Township, South East of the Town of Cobalt, Ontario. 

A post mortem was conducted by the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service (OFPS) earlier today in Ottawa, Ont. The human remains have been identified as those of Nicholas Rivard, 21 years old, of Haileybury, Ont.

The investigation remains ongoing with members of the Temiskaming OPP Crime Unit, under the direction of Detective Staff Sergeant Kurtis Fredericks, OPP Criminal Investigation Branch.

The OPP would also like to thank members of the public who assisted during this investigation.
