Timmins – The Seizure & Brain Injury Centre is participating in the Purple Day Awareness Campaign, which will be held on March 26, 2014.

The Centre is once again hosting its Fourth annual Purple Pets Photo Contest. Local residents are encouraged to dress their pets in purple – whether it’s a purple scarf on the dog or purple ribbon tied around the fish tank – then take a photo and submit it digitally to the Seizure & Brain Injury Centre by March 18th.

The contest is to raise awareness of epilepsy and support the annual Purple Day Campaign. “This contest is very important to our agency. A lot of people don’t realize that animals also suffer from seizure disorders, approximately five per cent of dogs suffer from epilepsy. This contest is a great way to raise awareness for our pets as well as people.”

Entries will be judged by the Seizure & Brain Injury staff with winners announced March 21st. Photo entries may be eligible to be part of our first annual Purple Pets Calendar and photos will be posted on our website www.seizurebraininjurycentre.com . For more information call 705-264-2933 or submit a photo to [email protected].
