A potential COVID-19 exposure advisory has been issued for a dump near Temiskaming Shores.

The low-risk exposure notice is for people who visited the Coleman Township Municipal Dump at 506126 Ferguson Rd. on Tuesday, April 6 and Saturday, April 10, according to the Timiskaming Health Unit.

"Anyone who visited the dump on these dates should self-monitor for symptoms. If symptoms develop, reach out to your local Assessment Center for testing. You do not have to go for testing if you do not have symptoms," reads the health unit bulletin.

People who are unsure whether or not they should be tested can call the Timiskaming Health Unit at 1-866-747-4305 ext. 7.

To date in the Timiskaming Health Unit region, which includes communities from Kirkland Lake to Temagami, there have been 136 confirmed cases. Of those, 129 are recovered and two people have died. There are five known active cases. Twenty-three cases have screened positive for variants of concern.
