There’s a new chair and vice-chair at the helm of the Timmins Police Services Board.

At the committee’s first meeting of 2019, Mayor George Pirie was elected to the chair position, with Rob Knox earning the vice-chair seat.

The board also approved several promotions.

The resignation of Staff Sgt. Danny Charest late last year, means that two officers have moved up in the ranks.

Chief John Gauthier said Sgt. Guy Bouffard has been promoted to staff sergeant, and Const. Robin Carter has moved up to sergeant.
