Police Sergeant charged with impaired

During the early morning hours of Sunday, September 14, 2014, a Timmins Police officer observed a vehicle operating in the downtown core.

Upon speaking to the vehicle’s driver, the officer noted signs of impairment.

Following an investigation, Timmins Police Sergeant David Starcevic, 38, was charged with Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle and Fail/Refuse to Provide Breath Sample.

At the time of the arrest, Sgt. Starcevic was under suspension pending a Police Services Act investigation, and remains under suspension.

Sgt. Starcevic was released on a Promise to Appear with a court date of September 30, 2014.
