Police say guy walks in front door, starts rummaging

The Timmins Police Service has completed its investigation into an early morning residential break-in in the north end of the city on Jan. 24.

It is alleged that a male suspect gained entry into the residence by means of an unlocked front door and began rummaging through the residence. The suspect fled the residence when confronted by the home owner.

Timmins Police officers were called to the scene and began their investigation.

The suspect was identified, located, and arrested by the Timmins Police Service a short while later.

As a result, Evan Beaulne, 34, of Timmins has been charged with:

  • One count of break and enter contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
  • One count of possession of property obtained by crime contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
  • One count of possession of break-In instruments contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
  • One count of possession of a controlled substance contrary to the Controlled Drug and Substances Act
  • One count of fail to comply – probation order contrary to the Criminal code of Canada

The accused was held in custody awaiting a bail hearing which took place yesterday at Provincial Court in Timmins. He remains in custody awaiting his next court date of Jan. 30, 2017 to answer to the charges laid against him.
