The Timmins Police responded to a report of an elderly woman who had wandered from her residence yesterday over the noon hour. Upon arrival at the scene, Timmins Police officers gathered the necessary details to orchestrate a comprehensive ground search.
The woman was described as being 82 years of age, last seen in a residential area in the north end of the city. The Timmins Police performed a search of the local streets surrounding the woman’s residence as well as nature trails and wooded areas in the vicinity.
At approximately 2:45 p.m., the Timmins Police were alerted to the fact that a disoriented woman matching the missing woman’s description had made her way to a restaurant on Riverside Drive.
The missing person, despite being disoriented and dehydrated, was found to be in a good state of being. She was returned to the care of her family at her residence by the Timmins Police Service. The Timmins Police Service is thankful for the assistance of the public in regards to this matter.
