Police respond to break-in in progress

The Timmins Police Service has charged a local man with break-in related charges stemming from an occurrence in the north end of the city over the weekend.

Timmins Police officers responded to a break and enter in progress in the area of Cedar Street North during the morning hours of Friday, Nov. 18.

A suspect was identified, located and arrested a short while later and found to be in possession of alleged stolen property. Further investigation has linked the suspect to a further break-in that had occurred on Nov. 2.

As a result of the investigation, Evan Beaulne, 34, of Timmins has been charged with:

  • One count of Break and Enter contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
  • One count of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

The accused remains in police custody awaiting a bail hearing slated for Nov. 22 at Provincial Court in Timmins.
