The Timmins Police Service has been receiving numerous complaints from residents regarding snowmobiles being driven on roadways and in residential areas.

The Timmins Police Service has been receiving numerous complaints from residents regarding snowmobiles being driven on roadways and in residential areas.

Snowmobilers are reminded once again that it is illegal to ride on city streets unless the street is part of an OFSC trail. Snowmobilers wishing to access OFSC trails must trailer their snowmobiles to the trail if the street is not an approved snowmobile route.

Timmins Police officers will be actively patrolling snowmobile trails and lakes in our area for the remainder of the snowmobile season. Street access to snowmobile trails is only available when OFSC trails are open during the winter months, and will end when trails close in the spring.

Snowmobilers are also reminded that the City of Timmins has a 24-hour noise bylaw, which prohibits loud or excessive noise in residential areas.

For clarification on the streets on which snowmobilers are permitted to drive, please see the maps below.
