Police make second arrest in LCBO robbery. One more to go

The Timmins Police Service has completed its investigation into a robbery at the Timmins LCBO outlet which occurred on the afternoon of Feb. 19.

Based on the investigation into the robbery, the Timmins Police Service have identified the two male and lone female suspects, who fled the scene on foot.

One of the suspects, Lawrence Nakogee, 25, of Timmins, was arrested yesterday and has been charged with:

  • One count of robbery with violence contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
  • One count of carry a concealed weapon contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
  • One count of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
  • Two counts of fail to comply with probation order contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.

His bail hearing was held yesterday at Provincial Court in Timmins.

A second suspect, Desmond Spence, 23, of Timmins, was arrested early this morning at the scene of an unrelated call for service. He is charged with:

  • One count of robbery with violence contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
  • One count of fail to comply with probation order contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

Spence remains in police custody awaiting a bail hearing slated for this morning at Provincial Court in Timmins.

The Timmins Police have identified the female suspect in regards to this robbery and are currently attempting to locate her.
