The Timmins Police Service says there has been no change in the condition of a 52-year-old male who was hospitalized with serious injuries after being struck by a taxi cab early Saturday morning

"The investigation is ongoing and there have been no charges laid at this time," said Inspector Mike McGinn, of the Timmins Police Service, earlier today.

What they can say is that they are still looking for witnesses to the accident to give an independent accounting of the collision.

"While we have a statement from the driver of the vehicle," said McGinn, "The pedestrian is unable to give us his side of the story."

McGinn was unable to release either the names of the pedestrian or the cab company involved in the incident but did say that there were no issues surrounding the licenses or permits for the cab company and its driver.

Anyone who may have seen the collision at the intersection of Cameron North and Vimy, early Saturday morning around 2 a.m. is asked to call Timmins Police Service at 705-264-1201.
