Police come across someone they know. Arrest ensues

While conducting patrols of the downtown core on Jan. 18, a Timmins Police officer observed a female, known to the police as being a wanted person.

The officer interviewed the alleged wanted person and confirmed that warrants for her arrest on charges of theft, breach of probation and failing to appear for court were still active.

The female was identified and arrested by the Timmins Police Service at that time.

During the course of a search of her person incident to arrest, it is further alleged that a quantity of cannabis marijuana and methamphetamines were located.

As a result, Brianne Rickard, 29, of Timmins is charged with:

  • One count of Theft Under $5,000 contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
  • One count of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
  • One count of Breach of Probation contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
  • One count of Fail to Appear contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
  • One count of Fail to comply with Undertaking contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

She remains in police custody awaiting a bail hearing slated for this morning at Provincial Court in Timmins.
