People line up for Stars and Thunder tickets

Line Levasseur first in line for second year

For the second year running, Line Levasseur was the first in line for Stars and Thunder tickets.

Early this morning (Nov. 16), Levasseur and Karen Chisholm hauled their lawn chairs into the Archie Dillon Sportsplex to wait for tickets for the 2018 Stars and Thunder music festival to go on sale.

“This is the experience, it’s an adventure and it’s fun,” Levasseur said about waking up early to get in line.

The lineup for next year’s festival, which runs from June 24 to July 1 at Hollinger Park, was announced last week. The headliner for the Canada Day show is Bryan Adams, with Our Lady Peace, Matthew Good and Sons of Maxwell also playing.

While Levasseur is looking forward to seeing Canadian rocker Bryan Adams, Chisholm is excited for Blue Rodeo, who is playing earlier in the week.

Tickets went on sale to Timmins residents today online at starsandthunder.com and in person at the Sportsplex, where they can be purchased until 8 p.m. After today, tickets can be bought in person at City Hall during regular business hours.

Ticket sales open up to everyone Nov. 17.

Early-bird prices are in effect until April 30. Until then, an eight-day general admission pass is $275 and an eight-day VIP pass is $450. Individual day tickets are also available, with the cost varying depending on the day.People buying a ticket on the first two days of the ticket sale will be entered to win one of 10 meet and greet packages. The winners will get to select the artist based on the order that the names are drawn. Anyone buying tickets on these days will also be entered to win one of 25 free festival T-shirts.
