The first day of spring is ushering in the end of the city's outdoor rinks.

The City of Timmins has announced that all of its outdoor rinks are closed for the season. The city-run rinks are the Hollinger skate path, Roy Nicholson Park and Mountjoy Arena.

Public skating is still being offered indoors until March 26.

It's offered at the Whitney Arena in Porcupine on Saturdays from 4-4:50 p.m. and Sundays from noon to 12:50 p.m.

The cost is $5 per person.
