A new exhibit is putting the spotlight on climate change.

The outdoor exhibit Climate Change is Here will be set up in the front yard at the Timmins Museum: National Exhibition Centre until Sept. 30.

“It’s an outdoor visual display based on the imagery of National Geographic. It highlights Canadian contributions in particular to climate change technology, which is a very relevant topic, of course, today,” said museum attendant Paul Raiche.

The travelling exhibit is bilingual and has images of climate change from a global perspective. Along with the National Geographic magazine images, there are photos and information from Environment and Climate Change Canada, Natural Resources Canada, and Sustainable Development Technology Canada about Canadian research and technology addressing climate change.

Raiche said the exhibit, which was only set up yesterday, is already quite popular.

“Anyone who visits the site can visit the 10 information panels, which are lit by solar polar... the medium is the message with this sort of climate change exhibit,” he said.
