Organized crime bureau involved in hydro theft investigation

SOUTH PORCUPINE – In early January 2017, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau (OCEB) received a complaint from Hydro One indicating that a theft of hydro was occurring in the Gogama, Foleyet and Timmins areas.

As a result of the investigation, Glen Macdonald, 71 years old from Gogama, has been charged with two counts of theft over $5,000 contrary to section 334(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada. 

Mark Marchiori, 51 years old from Timmins has been charged with theft over $5,000 contrary to section 334(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada.

Both individuals are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Timmins on Apr. 11, 2017. 

The investigation is continuing.
