OPP respond to threat at Kapuskasing school

KAPUSKASING - On Feb. 21, 2018 at approximately 1 p.m. Kapuskasing officers of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a potential threat at a multi-school complex in the Town of Kapuskasing, Ontario.

The Kapuskasing District High School, the Diamond Jubilee Public School and École secondaire publique Écho Du Nord were immediately locked down for approximately one hour after receiving a complaint from school officials.

Police located and arrested a 15-year-old male from Kapuskasing in connection with the complaint. The male was at his residence at the time of the arrest. All three schools were then released without incident.

The investigation is ongoing at this time.
