OPP Lay Drug Charges

(IROQUOIS FALLS) – The Iroquois Falls Ontario Provincial Police have arrested and charged two Orillia area residents with drug related charges stemming from a routine traffic stop on October 26 th on Hwy 11 in the Iroquois Falls area.

(IROQUOIS FALLS) – The Iroquois Falls Ontario Provincial Police have arrested and charged two Orillia area residents with drug related charges stemming from a routine traffic stop on October 26th on Hwy 11 in the Iroquois Falls area.

An Iroquois Falls OPP officer had occasion to stop a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck hauling a trailer.  The vehicle had been the subject of a driving complaint and was located by the OPP officer.

The vehicle was stopped and the driver and occupant interviewed at the roadside.

Based on observations made by the officer at the road side, a quantity of marijuana was located within the vehicle.

As a result, Brian DENENA, 22, and Mackenzie MCGILL, 22, both of Orillia have been charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance contrary to the Controlled Drug and Substances Act.

Both men are required to attend Provincial Court in Timmins on December 16th 2013 to answer to the charges laid against them.
