OPP investigating pedestrian collision at Northern College picket line

KIRKLAND LAKE - Members of the Kirkland Lake Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a collision involving a pedestrian on Oct. 19, 2017 shortly after 9 a.m. 

The collision occurred at Toburn Road in Kirkland Lake, Ont., near Northern College where a faculty strike is underway.

A picketer, who was standing at the entrance near Toburn Road, was struck by a vehicle causing them to fall to the ground. The male driver did not stop and continued towards the college.   

The picketer suffered undetermined injuries. 

The OPP have identified the driver of the vehicle and is continuing its investigation into the collision.
