OPP Catch Speeder and Net Drugs

(FOLEYET) – The Foleyet Ontario Provincial Police have arrested and charged 3 Toronto area persons with a drug related charges stemming from an traffic violation yesterday on Hwy 101 in Ivanhoe Twp. near Foleyet, Ontario.

(FOLEYET) – The Foleyet Ontario Provincial Police have arrested and charged 3 Toronto area persons with a drug related charges stemming from an traffic violation yesterday on Hwy 101 in Ivanhoe Twp. near Foleyet, Ontario.

An OPP officer had occasion to observe and stop a 2000 Chrysler passenger vehicle for allegedly travelling at a speed of 137 km/h.

Based on investigative cues, the OPP officer arrested the occupants and performed a search of the vehicle based on grounds afforded to him under the Controlled Drug and Substances Act.

As a result, the OPP officer located and seized:

-       Over $600.00 in Canadian currency

-       A quantity of cannabis marijuana with a street value of $10.00

-       Fentanyl with a street value of $ 3,000.00

-       Oxycodone tablets with a street value of $13,000.00

-       Drug trade paraphernalia

-       4 cells phones

As a result, Jaunoi CHRISTIAN, 19, of Brampton, has been charged with:

-       Fail To Comply With Undertaking contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

-       Possession of a Controlled Substance contrary to the Controlled Drug and Substances Act.

-       2 counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking contrary to the Controlled Drug and Substances Act.

-       2 counts of Trafficking contrary to the Controlled Drug and Substances Act.

-       Identity Fraud contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

-       Obstruct / Resist Peace Officer contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

-       Street Racing contrary to the Highway Traffic Act

He remains in police custody awaiting a bail hearing this morning at Provincial Court in Timmins

Additionally, Lloyd WOOLERY, 21, of Brampton, has been charged with:

-       Fail To Comply With Undertaking contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

-       Possession of a Controlled Substance contrary to the Controlled Drug and Substances Act.

-       2 counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking contrary to the Controlled Drug and Substances Act.

-       2 counts of Trafficking contrary to the Controlled Drug and Substances Act.

He remains in police custody awaiting a bail hearing this morning at Provincial Court in Timmins.

Additionally, a 17 year old female young person from Toronto who cannot be identified,  has been charged with:

-       Fail To Comply With Undertaking contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

-       Possession of a Controlled Substance contrary to the Controlled Drug and Substances Act.

-       2 counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking contrary to the Controlled Drug and Substances Act.

-       2 counts of Trafficking contrary to the Controlled Drug and Substances Act.

-       Breach of Recognizance contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

She remains in police custody awaiting a bail hearing this morning at Provincial Court in Timmins.

The vehicle has been impounded for 7 days in keeping with the statutory Street Racing procedures.
