TEMISKAMING SHORES - Members of the Temiskaming Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a fatal motor vehicle collision on September 11, 2014 shortly after 5 a.m.
The head on collision occurred on Highway 11 at Seeds Road involving a southbound tractor trailer and a northbound Honda Civic.
The driver of the tractor trailer, Eugeniusz WIETCZAK, 59 of Mississauga was transported by Temiskaming Ambulance to the hospital to for non-life threatening injuries.
The driver of the Honda Civic, Andre LAMOTHE 58, of North Cobalt was pronounced dead at the scene.
There were no passengers in the vehicles.
Haileybury Fire Department attended the scene.
The OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators are assisting with this ongoing investigation.
Highway 11 has been closed in both directions as the investigation into the collision continues.
The estimated duration of road advisory is unavailable at this time.
A detour is available at West Road through Temiskaming Shores to Highway 65 E.
