One dead following Highway 11 crash

ONTARIO PROVINCIAL POLICE

ENGELHART - At approximately 4:46 p.m. on Dec. 11, 2018, members from the Kirkland Lake Detachment and the Temiskaming Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police responded to a two vehicle crash on Highway 11 just north of Englehart, Ont. 

A tractor trailer collided with a cube van. The collision caused the vehicles to catch fire. Assisting with this investigation are the OPP Traffic Incident Management Enforcement (TIME) Team, Ministry of Transportation of Ontario (MTO), Miller Group, Englehart Fire Department and Temiskaming Shores Emergency Medical Services (EMS).

The investigation into yesterday's crash continues and OPP confirm that one person has died as a result. A post mortem examination is scheduled for Dec. 13, 2018 in Sudbury, Ont. The identity of the victim has not been confirmed.

Highway 11 opened at approximately 4 a.m. this morning.
