One arrested in 10:30 a.m. RIDE check

A Cochrane man lost his licence for 90 days

COCHRANE – On Sept. 23, 2016, the James Bay Detachments Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was conducting RIDE checks at the corner of Fifth Street and Western Avenue in the Town of Cochrane.

At approximately 10:30 a.m., police intercepted a motor vehicle at the RIDE check and their investigation revealed that the male driver had consumed alcohol.

Andrew Cashaback, 32, of Cochrane, ON was arrested and charged for:

  • Driving with more than 80 mgs. of alcohol in blood contrary to section 253(1)(b) of the Criminal Code of Canada (CC)

His driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle has been impounded for seven days.

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cochrane on October 27, 2016 to answer to the charges.
