City council will consider a zoning bylaw amendment application for 225 Elm Street South, a former church, to develop it into a three-unit residential dwelling.
Steve Morin, of Timberlock Inc., is named as the applicant. He is also seeking special provisions for an increase in lot coverage, reductions in setback requirements, and reductions in parking.
The matter was on Monday's council agenda as a 'public meeting' where any members of the public could speak for or against the amendment. Nobody in attendance cared to do either.
Councillor Pat Bamford asked the city's Director of Development Mark Jensen, what the status of building permits was for this address.
"I am not aware of a building permit being issued," replied Jensen.
"I have noticed that the windows have been changed," said Bamford, who noted he had driven by the address earlier in the day.
He said he realizes that a permit isn't required to change windows, but said he would like to know what's going on inside the building.
He also inquired about the parking situation.
"There is a provision to provide for three on-site parking spots" said Jensen.
Council will receive a report back from staff in the near future. The zoning bylaw amendment will require a majority vote.
