2 youth arrested in O’Gorman High School lock down incident (update: lock down lifted)

2:50 p.m. update from the Timmins Police Service:

On Nov. 6, 2018 the Timmins Police Service received a complaint from staff at O’Gorman High School that a threat was made towards the school. School officials were alerted to a social media post that included threatening remarks. They became concerned for the safety of the students and faculty of the school and immediately initiated a lock down procedure and contacted the Timmins Police Service.

Members of the Timmins Police Service attended the school and immediately addressed the safety of those involved. Two young persons were arrested and brought into police custody. No one was injured during the incident.

The incident has been contained; however the school remains on lock down while police continue this criminal investigation.
