The Timmins Police Service is investigating the discovery of a body in Porcupine Lake at approximately 5:45 a.m. this morning (July 20, 2013). The body of a male person was discovered by a Timmins Police Service officer who was searching the area for a reported missing person. At this time it cannot be confirmed if the deceased person is the same person who was reported missing.
Timmins Coroner Dr. K.C. Lim attended at the scene and has ordered a post-morten examination which will be conducted early next week in Sudbury. Officers are continuing to conduct interviews in relation to this death, however, no foul play is suspected at this time.
