INVESTIGATE SUSPECTED ROBBERY ATTEMPT

(IROQUOIS FALLS, ON) – Members of the Iroquois Falls Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Detachment and members of the Crime Unit are investigating an attempted robbery that occurred during the early evening of January 13, 2014 at a local veterinarian hospital in Iroquois Falls.

An employee, who was in his personal vehicle, was approached while in the parking lot of the animal hospital located on Ambridge Drive by an unknown male person.  The suspect attempted to force the employee out of his vehicle.

The victim fled the scene in his vehicle and was followed briefly by the suspect in a small dark colored sports utility vehicle (SUV).  Both the suspect’s vehicle and the victim’s vehicle sustained damage during the altercation.

The suspect is described as being 6’0 tall and wearing a white baseball cap.

 OPP REQUESTS THE PUBLICS ASSISTANCE - Video Attached to Identify Subject 

(COBALT, ON) – Between October and November 2013 members of the Temiskaming Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have responded to approximately eleven incidents of random tire slashing in the Town of Cobalt.

While investigations are continuing, the OPP requests your assistance to identify the subject in the attached video.

TRAFFIC STOP LEADS TO TRAFFICKING CHARGE

(NORTH BAY, ON) -The North Bay Highway Safety Division Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) remains vigilant in its efforts to promote public safety and security through enforcement of Highway Traffic Act (HTA) and Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) legislation.

On January 14, 2014, at approximately 11:40 a.m., a member of the Highway Traffic Division OPP was patrolling on Highway 17 in East Ferris Township and stopped a westbound vehicle for a traffic infraction.

As a result of the traffic stop and subsequent investigation, the driver, William LOHNES, age 30 of Niagara Falls, of the motor vehicle was charged with fail to have a driver’s licence, drive while under suspension and speeding.  The passenger, Dylan HUGHES, age 23 of Bonfield, was charged with traffic schedule II substance - cannabis marihuana under 3 kilograms, section 5(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.  Police seized 109 grams of marihuana.

The North Bay OPP asks the public to be alert to suspicious persons, vehicles and activities, especially in remote locations, and to report same to OPP immediately at 1-888-310-1122.
