(BURK’S FALLS, ON) The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating a robbery that occurred on Monday January 6, 2014 at a Yonge Street, Burk’s Falls residence. A female accused attended a Yonge Street residence to get money that was owed to her from an acquaintance.  When she arrived at the residence she entered and punched a female that was living at the home and stole a playstation 3 prior to leaving.

Police arrested the female Crystal STEWART (37) of Burk’s Falls Ontario and later released her from police custody.  The accused is charged with robbery with theft and fail to comply with conditions of an undertaking given by an officer in charge, contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada and is to appear in Sundridge Court on Thursday February 27, 2014. BREAK ENTER AND THEFT TO A PERRY TOWNSHIP RESIDENCE

(PERRY TWP, ON) The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating a break enter and theft to a Perry Township residence that occurred sometime between Monday December 23, 2013 and Friday January 10, 2014.

Unknown person(s) entered the garage of the Lakeview Drive residence and removed a 2001 Polaris snowmobile that was later recovered in a snowbank on the victim’s property.  The suspects did steal a Stihl chain saw, model 280, orange and white in colour.

 

POLICE CHARGE KESWICK MAN WITH INTERNET LURING OFFENCES

(Keswick, ON) - Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Child Sexual Exploitation Unit (Project “P”), Aurora OPP Detachment and the York Regional Police Internet Exploitation Unit (ICE unit) have arrested and charged a Keswick man following a seven week internet luring investigation.

On January 9, 2014 a Keswick man attended at a local establishment where he thought he was to meet with a 14 year old girl. Instead, he was met by plainclothes officers and subsequently arrested without incident.

On January 9, 2014, police arrested John WILSON, 58 years old of Keswick, Ontario and charged him with two counts of Luring a Child on the Internet.

On January 9, 2014 the OPP Child Sexual Exploitation Unit and the York Regional Police executed a search warrant at a Keswick residence. As a result of this investigation, one computer, three cellular telephones and other items pertinent to the investigation were seized.

The accused was remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear for a bail hearing today, January 13, 2014, at the Ontario Court of Justice in Newmarket, Ontario.

 

TRAFFIC STOP ON HIGHWAY 17 LEADS TO DRUG SEIZURE

(ESPANOLA, ON)- An officer from the Espanola OPP detachment conducted a traffic stop on January 9, 2014 in McKerrow at about 4:45 pm on Highway 17. A search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of 251.1 grams of cannabis marihuana with a street value of approximately $10,072.00 and 60 grams of Psilocybin (magic mushrooms) with a street value of approximately $1,200.00. The male driver and female passenger were arrested and held for bail. Two male passengers were also arrested and released.

Lawrence LOUISON (39 yrs) of Regina, Saskatchewan has been charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance. Sherilyn PAUL (40yrs) of Broadview, Saskatchewan has been charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance.
