OPP CHARGE UNLICENCED DRIVER (SOUTH PORCUPINE) – The South Porcupine Ontario Provincial Police has charged a 22 yr old driver with a number of traffic offences stemming from an incident on October 20 th , 2013, on Airport Road in Timmins.

(SOUTH PORCUPINE) – The South Porcupine Ontario Provincial Police has charged a 22 yr old driver with a number of traffic offences stemming from an incident on

October 20th, 2013, on Airport Road in Timmins.

While en route to his assigned patrol zone, an OPP officer had occasion to observe the driver of a passenger vehicle allegedly commit a traffic violation.

The driver was stopped and based on the standard verifications completed by the OPP officer, it was determined that the driver was currently unlicenced in Ontario.

As a result, Samuel RODDA, 22, of Timmins, has been charged with:

-       Drive a Motor Vehicle – No Licence contrary to the Highway Traffic Act

-       Use Plates Not Authorized contrary to the Highway Traffic Act

-       Operate Motor Vehicle – No Insurance contrary to the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act

The vehicle was towed from the scene.

The driver has been served with a Summons requiring him to attend Provincial Court on December 5th, 2013, to answer to the charges laid against him.

LAY DRUG AND PUBLIC INTOXICATION CHARGES

(IROQUOIS FALLS) – The Iroquois Falls OPP have arrested and charged a local man with a drug related charge and a charge of public intoxication stemming from a noise complaint received during the early morning hours of October 16th in Iroquois Falls.

Ontario Provincial Police officers attended a Nosov Street address to find an intoxicated male person in the midst of attempting to push a parked car.

The man was arrested for his own protection under the Liquor Licence Act.

A search of his person revealed that he was in possession of a quantity of suspected methamphetamine tablets.

The investigation has been completed and as a result, Alexander RUMBALL, 19, of Iroquois Falls, has been charged with:

-       One count of Possession of a Controlled Substance contrary to the Controlled Drug and Substances Act.

-       One count of Being Intoxicated in Public contrary to the Liquor Licence Act

He was released from police custody on a Promise to Appear requiring him to attend Provincial Court in Timmins on November 26th, 2013 to answer to the charges laid against him.
