Timmins – Representatives from the Northern Credit Union Delegate Group attended Timmins and District Hospital to present a cheque to the Foundation Thursday, March 6, 2014. The Northern Credit Union Delegate Group is comprised of 26 branches throughout Ontario that raise funds to support initiatives in the communities they serve.
Presenting the cheque for $1,984.42 on behalf of the Northern Credit Union Delegates Group were Maureen Moore, Chairperson and Robert Mills, Special Events Coordinator. Accepting the donation on behalf of TADH were Janna Cook, Foundation Executive Director and Susan Boisvert, Registered Respiratory Therapist and Cardiopulmonary Team Leader.
“The government does not provide funding for equipment so it’s up to the community to step up and support our local hospital,” stated Robert Mills, Northern Credit Union Delegate Group Special Events Coordinator. “Everybody is going to need the hospital someday, so choosing to support TADH was an easy fit for us,” added Mills.
"The Aeroneb uses a superior technology that allows the healthcare team to deliver respiratory medications much more effectively, especially when these patients also require supportive ventilation,” stated Susan Boisvert, Registered Respiratory Therapist and Cardiopulmonary Team Leader. “By ensuring that we provide treatment in the best possible way, we can decrease the length of time that patients require ventilation and help them to recover from an acute illness faster," added Boisvert.
“On behalf of the Foundation, I would like to thank our local Northern Credit Union Delegate Group for their generous donation to our Cardiopulmonary Department,” stated Janna Cook, TADH Foundation Executive Director. “Innovative technology like the Aeroneb is essential to maintaining the quality of care our team provides to our patients,” added Cook.
