Ringing in the new year means temporary changes for City of Timmins services.
Because of the holiday Jan. 1, areas of the city that normally get their garbage and recycling picked up on Mondays will have their collection on Tuesday, Jan. 2. According to the city's website, landfills and transfer station will be closed Jan. 1.
If you rely on Timmins Transit to get around, its hours will also be a little different.
New Year’s Eve, the buses will operate on the regular Sunday service schedule. There will be no service on New Year’s Day.
